My girlfriend was supposed to fly back home this past weekend on Spirit. We get to the airport an hour and a half before her flight. We wait an hour in the queue to check in, after which we told that they downsized the aircraft that day and now they overbooked by about 50 seats.
It raises some interesting dilemmas for us though: without Radio 1’s 10 million plus audience Newsbeat wouldn’t exist. But what happens when the station itself IS the news? Does this cramp our journalistic vigour or make us feel we shouldn’t take on “the mother ship”? I don’t think it does nor should it ever do so. If we argue that our job is to report the news without fair or favour for other organisations, why should Radio 1 be exempt from that rule? I think pulling our punches would be failing our listeners Radio 1’s listeners.

I don’t like seeing the homeless as much as the next guy (drugs, fighting, alcoholism, pissing on the sidewalks, seen it all I think) and there are some parts of town I avoid due to this, but keep in mind the majority of homeless are people who couldn’t afford the housing costs. Only a minority of them are drug addicts, violent, or have mental health issues (all of which will require treatment and taxpayer money). You can’t exactly snap your fingers like Thanos and expect the problem to disappear..
I live in colorado where we have even more favorable personal growing laws. I grow my own. I don even try to give it away anymore. Looking for something a little different? Try the Wii. Choice is good and can only mean good things for the industry as a whole. The numbers speak for themselvesPosted: 2007/07/04 at 3:37 PMObviously people like James who are interested only in graphics will not like a console specifically designed to avoid the high costs associated with producing high graphic consoles.
